The speed! The skill! Do you have what it takes?
The third version of the game of rugby has become one of the fastest growing sports world wide. The speed and the skill required to play this fast paced game are immense. This has caused the game of touch rugby to become very popular. The formation of a global body has led to a World Cup for touch rugby being played. This is no longer a game played in the back yard or the street but a sport played at the highest of levels.
The organization of the Valke Touch Rugby Tournament held at Queens High School has resulted in more and more schools participating. Over the years we have won two tournaments with our U/15 team and our Open team has been first runner-up twice and won once.
The Touch Rugby program has delivered provincial players like Luke Schultz who played for the Valke in the National Tournament in Durban in 2014.
With the guidance of experienced rugby coaches like Mr. du Toit, Mr. Botha and Mr. Coetsee who have won Beeld trophies and Provincial Tournaments the program has gone from strength to strength.
